1945 BAG COLLECTION
THE 1945 BAG COLLECTION
Balmain’s latest offering—salutes the house’s audacious founding spirit. For this line, Creative Director Olivier Rousteing and his team were inspired by some of Pierre Balmain’s strongest mid-century designs to create a bold collection of soft-leather and jacquard bags, in a variety of sizes and shapes.

The intricate motif also reflects Pierre Balmain’s lifelong fascination with the perplexing labyrinths that form part of some of France’s most beautiful Renaissance gardens.
Built on Balmain's legacy
All the eight bags of the new collection are produced in Italy and each relies on unique golden embellishments. Of course, gold medallions, gilded buttons and golden symbols have adorned the house’s creations since Pierre Balmain’s earliest days, and they are a shared signature of the collections of both Pierre Balmain and Olivier Rousteing.
Leather designs in the 1945 collection rely on the highest quality full-grain calfskin, giving the bags a distinctively rich sheen.
The two-color, three-dimensional jacquard fabric relies on singularly thick yarns. Woven by one of France’s most respected luxury tapissiers, the complex pattern’s depth and tactile richness help to underline the authentic heritage spirit of the recently revived pattern.
